The Glory of a New Day

Each morning we awake to face a zillion situations which will require of us a zillion decisions [Matthew 6:34]. We begin our daily race by putting our feet on the floor. But most times what we forget is to take time with God [Jeremiah 4:22], who created us [Psalm 100:3], loves us [John 13:34], and reconciles us to Himself [2 Corinthians 5:19]. We must choose and plan [Joshua 24:15] to stop and be quiet for a while [Psalm 46:10 KJV]. We cannot wait until midday or evening [Psalm 5:3] for then all the challenging situations will be behind us and all our decisions will be already made. We will be asking God to bless what we have already done and not what He led us to do [Proverbs 3:5-6].

So right now, as you read, take a moment to choose to quiet yourself each morning. Plan to listen to God and what He has to say before you start your day. Begin right now and go to a place of quietness and stillness. Stand, sit, or lie in inactivity. Adore the God whom you love. Praise Him for who He is, not what He will do. Quietly now listen. If His Spirit lives within you, He will begin to softly and gently speak to your heart.

Each morning when the sun rises God is faithfully here with us through the presence of His Spirit. He is unmoved and unchanged and His desires remain the same. We will face each situation today knowing we must do what is right every time. We must just choose to honor Him and live holy unto Him.
